“THE LIFE OF RILEY” In -The Life of Riley.” in which George Murray is co-featured with George Sidney, Murray is a small town fire chief, inventor of a tire extinguisher, and storekeeper- Sidney is chief of police of the same village, and ice man on the side. Both th§| famous comics love the same fas,-* einating widow, a role enacted byMyrtle Stedman. The plot starts from there and nevcj} pauses for an instant to dish up laughs and thrills. Of course there is a vfl~ lain: a novel and interesting type of photographer, shell-game-operator rnd slicker, enacted by Sam Hardy. Thf principal romance is distinctly corner dic in nature, but there is a youthful affair between June Marlowe and Stephen Carr that is full of heart* throbs and wistful sweetness. •
