BRASS BANDS TO BOOM BUSINESS

SYMONDS ST. PROJECT INSPIRATIONS AT LUNCH At a luncheon given to the members by Mr. J. H. Ansel], president of the Upper Symonds Street Business Men’s Association to-day, various schemes for advertising the shops of Symonds Street were discussed. One project, which was adopted, was to parade a brass band up and down the street on Friday evenings. A lecture on advertising was given by the Rev*. A. M. Niblock, of the Auckland Advertising Club, who suggested that the association change its name to the Upper Symonds Street Advertising Club in order that members might reap the benefits of affiliation with the World Advertising Association. He concluded his address by offering to give the association four lectures on window-dressing, salesmanship and general advertising. It was announced that the luncheons would be held fortnightly.
