MODEL MAORI SETTLEMENT ! Several matters pertaining to the model settlement of the Princess Puea Flerangi, the Waikato chieftainess, were discussed by Mr. James Rukutai, chairman of Te Akarana. Maori Association, and the Mayor qfiNgaruawahia, Mr. H. J. Sampson, ©*¥= Saturday. Mr. Rukutai obtained the views of the borough council in regard to certain drainage work which is now neeessary in order to carry off storm-water from the area upon which the Princess hopes to erect tennis courts for her people. He also made himself conversant with building regulations with which Te Puea must be acquainted, as the new meeting-house which she contemplates erecting will, of course, be erected within the borough boundaries.
