“Bloody Domination”
RED ARMY ADDRESSED BY BRITISH COMMUNIST DEATH-KNELL OF EMPIRE By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.45 a.m. RIGA, Sunday. The British Communist, Mr. Gallagher, speaking at the Red Army anniversary celebrations at Moscow, delivered a message purporting to come from British workers. He declared that he and his colleagues were ready to fight alongside the Red Army to overthrow British Imperialism. The Red Army’s mere existence was already stirring up India’s millions to throw off Britain’s bloody domination. The first shot in an Anglo-Soviet war would be the death-knell of the British Empire. M. Voroshiloff, Commissar of War, said that the army supported the Soviet’s disarmament proposals. The Soviet was ready to disarm, although it was possessed of adequate means to fulfil its purpose.—A. and N.Z.
