ORR—WALKER

On Wednesday evening at 7.30 at the Methodist Church, Manurewa, a pretty wedding took place, when Ivy Miriam, ord> daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Walker, of Massey Road, Manurewa, was married to William Orr, only son of Mrs. B. Brodie, formerly Mrs. William Orr, of Double Bay, Sydney. The church was artistically decorated by friends of the bride, with masses of flowers arranged along the pews, and over the bridal party was suspended a beautiful wedding bell. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming gown of ivory georgette, finished with side panels of silver lace, over an underdress of cameo pink crepe de chine. An embroidered veil fell from a circlet of orange blossoms to form a train, and a shower bouquet of white flowers and ferns was carried. The Rev. Wesley Griffin was the officiating clergyman, while Miss Craig acted as organist. Mr. William Allen attended the groom as best man, and Mr. Eric Walker was groomsman. Miss Eileen Orr, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of mandarin blue georgette, with a headdress of tulle. She carried a bouquet to tone. Miss Edna Guy, another bridesmaid, wore a dainty frock of orchid pink georgette, with bandeau of tulle, and carried a bouquet of tinted flowers. Little Allison Grassick was a flower girl, frocked in eau de nil taffeta, daintily trimmed with tiny rosebuds. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Theatre Royal, Manurewa, where a large number of friends and relatives were entertained. Mr. and Mrs. Orr sailed next day for Sydney, the bride travelling in a frock of rose du Barri satin worn under a smart coat of black silk, with close-fitting hat to tone. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Helen Speedy, only child of Mrs. E. Ross, ‘Tikitapu," Masterton, and the late Mr. Donald Ross, Inverness, Scotland, to John Russell, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gray, of Remuera, Auckland. The engagement is announced of Miss V. Jean Turner, youngest daughter of the late Mr. John G. Turner, of Wellington, and Rene Bidault, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Cottier, of New Plymouth. Miss Turner is well known in musical circles in Wellington.

RIDDELL—ANDERSON Clusters of lilies and palm leaves decorated the Edendale Presbyterian Church on Saturday last for the wedding of Miss Irene Florence Anderson, of Auckland, to Mr. Donald B. RiddGll, of Gordonton. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Colin Anderson, was gowned in champagne coloured georgette, with an overskirt of lace. She wore a long veil which fell to form a tram, and carried a bouquet of shaded roses to tone with her frock. The Rev. W. Gilmour officiated at the ceremony. Mr. A. Coupland was best man. The bride was attended by Miss Jessie Riddell, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a dainty frock of orchid mauve georgette over shell pink crepe de chine. Her crinoline hat matched her frock and she carried a shower bouquet in shades of mauve and pink. Audrey and June Anderson, nieces of the bride, were flower girls, dressed in frocks of shell-pink georgette with silver trimmings. A reception was held at Miss Aitkenhead’s Tea Rooms, where Mrs. M. Moore received the guests wearing a gown of black panne velvet and a black hat. She carried a posy of red roses.
