EPOCH-MAKING FILM Fox Films’ sensational production “Sunrise,” continues to attract large audiences at the Times Square Theatre, New York, where it has now entered into its fourth month of continued screening. Critics have described this unusual production as an epoch-making film. and a gigantic step forward in screen technique. The unique effects obtained by the German wizard, F. W. Murnau, who directed the film, show what undreamed-off possibilities are at the disposal of the motion-picture camera to-day. The very technicians who worked under Murnau state that they were constantly working “in the dark” with regard to the photographic work, but : that whatever orders he gave, resulted in remarkable and unbelievable ef--1 fects. 4 Sunrise” features Janet Gaynor and George O’Brien, two - young and popular artists who are ! well on the way to becoming the 1 favourites of the screen.
