BOROUGHS INCLUDED ADDITION OF 185 MILES (From Our Resident Reporter .) WELLINGTON. To-day. Following the Introduction of the petrol tax the Main Highways Board has decided to add to the subsidised main highways the roads on main routes passing through boroughs with a population fewer than 6 000. The alteration "will entitle these boroughs to a subsidy up to 30s to the £ instead of the £ for £ or smaller subsidy granted previously on the basis of the subsidy given in each case to the adjoining county. The addition means 185 miles of , highway, and includes: Wellington-Auckland, via Taranaki, Main Highway.—Otaki, 40 chains; Levin, 1 mile.4B chains: Foxton, 1 mile 1.. chains.
