TOO MANY THEFT CASES
UNEMPLOYMENT NO EXCUSE I ONE YEAR FOR DALMATIAN “I am very sorry for what I did. but \ th ? shortage of work was to blame.” said Joseph J. Letica, when asking for leniency in the Supreme Court, before j Mr. Justice Reed this morning. Letica had pleaded guilty to six charges of breaking, entering and theft, at Dargaville. His Honour said it was apparent that the accused had borne a good character, but unfortunately these sort of cases were so prevalent it was impossible to treat them leniently. They had to stop. Prisoner was sentenced to reformative detention for one year.
