Play in the first set was disappointing, both players being over cautious. In the second set better tennis was shown. Mclnnes led 3 —l but Boussus’s service gradually gave him the advantage. In an exhibition mixed doubles match, J. Borotra (France) and Miss Boyd defeated J. Hawkes and Mrs. O’Hara Wood, 3—6, 7—5, 6—4. It was a match of sparkling tennis, Hawkes playing grandly. Borotra’s superb play dominated the last few games.—A. and N.Z.
