ARCHER—STEWART
Rose and white flowers were massed in charming profusion around St. Stephen’s Church, at Shirley, Christchurch, recently, when Pearl Evelyn, the eldest daughter of Mrs. Charles Stewart, St. Albans, Christchurch, was married to Robert William Archer, of Auckland, son of Mrs. E. Archer, Armagh Street, Christchurch. The Rev. J. W. Dyer, of Mount Somers, performed the ceremony. Entering the church with her brother-in-law, Mr. William Garton, by whom she was given away, the bride looked charming in her exquisite Paris model sleeveless gown of blush pink georgette, fashioned with tight-fitting bodice and very soft, full skirt, while the waistline was defined by a wide vandyked band of panne velvet in a deeper shade, and a single line of brilliants terminating in a brilliant ornament, holding a velvet bow in front. A pearl and brilliant coronet, with a cluster of orange blossom on each side, held the hand-embroidered veil of white tulle. Her shower bouquet was of white flowers, relieved with touches of pink. The two attendant maids. Miss Doris Martin, of Wanganui, and Miss Daisy Doig, Chertsey, wore dainty frocks of delphinium, blue georgette over blush pink crep€> -de chine, and wreaths of pink leaves and flowers in shades of pink and blue. They also carried posies of fragrant pink carnations and blue hydrangeas. Mr. A. H. Dowall, of Port Chalmers, acted as best man, and Mr. C. Lindsay, of Wellington, as groomsman. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Lilac Lounge, where Mrs. Stewart received her guests, wearing a becoming gown of black charmeuse relieved with cream lace
