VALEDICTORY
PATERANGI P.W.M.U. FUNCTION The members of the Paterangi branch of the P.W.M.U. called upon their president, Mrs. Cox, to bid her farewell on the eve of her departure from Paterangi. Mrs. W. G. Macky, in a brief speech, expressed the pleasure that each had derived from their association with Mrs. Cox during the nine months E#.e had spent with them, and she especially thanked Mrs. Cox for her interesting addresses on mission work which sho delivered during last winter and which were of great instructive and educational value. Mrs. Macky concluded by asking Mrs. Cox to accept a xylonite clock as a tangible expression of the appreciation and esteem of the P.W.M.U. Mrs. Cox thanked the members for their gift, and especially for the sentiments that had prompted it, and assured them that her connection with the P.W.M.U. and the associations it engendered had been a great pleasure to her. LEAP YEAR DANCE The grand Leap Year dance held in the Paterangi Hall last Thursday evening was an undoubted success, both socially and financially, and the young women responsible are to be congratulated on their initiative. The duties of M.C. were carried out by the Misses M. Morton, J. Bell and K. Macky.
