CHARGE OF EMBEZZLEMENT HOSPITAL OFFICIAL ACQUITTED Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, To-day. Thomas Henry Herbert Sinclair was acquitted at the Supreme Court to-day on 15 charges of embezzling the funds of the Taranaki Hospital Board, totalling £l3O. Sinclair is a member of the Hospital Board and a resident at Opunake, where one of his duties as secretary to the local cottage hospital was to collect fees from patients and pay them to the board, and also to make disbursements on behalf of the board. The defence was that the unsatisfactory state of accounts was due entirely to muddle.
