ASTONISHED VISITORS

FISHING IN NEW ZEALAND (From Our Oicn Correspondent) TAUPO, To-day. Dr. Lewis Smith, who for 25 years was consulting physician to the London Hospital, speaks very highly of the Tongariro River fishing. Dr. Smith had heard a great deal about the Taupo fishing in London, but he said that the number and condition of the trout in the Taupo waters astonished him. He and his wife had taken 232 trout, averaging over sib each, on the fly, in the 1G days they had been there. Dr. Smith praised the wisdom of the New Zealand Government in acquiring the fishing rights of the district, and he thought this would prove a great asset to the country. He said that he and Mrs. Smith planned to make another trip to New Zealand as soon as possible.
