To Defend Davis Cup The French Lawn Tennis Federation is taking the defence of the Davis Cup seriously. A special committee to superintend the organisation of the matches has been set up. It will be assisted by a sports sub-committee consisting of Borotra, Lacoste, Cochet and Brugnon. The latter have each intimated they consider every tennis player played in France should be given an opportunity of gaining a place in the French Davis Cup team, and a series of trial matches is proposed with a view to finding likely players.
