GARAGE BURNED GRASS FIRES EXTINGUISHED Prompt action on the part of th? Onehunga Fire Brigade prevented *«rious damage to a garage n Lower Street, Onehunga, at 8.30 p.m. yesterday. The garage, which is owned by Mr. B. Cunningham, contained two motor-lorries. They w< re undamaged part of one wall only being charredAt one o’clock this morning, howm: a second fire broke out in the sam? building, and before the- arrival of the brigade shortly afterwards the flame* had gained a good Mrs. Cunningham states that at 12.30 a.m. everything was safe. The building, which was old and very dry, was completely gutted. It | sured in the Commercial Union Office ‘for £3OO. A grass fire which broke out at th' ; Onehunga Recreation Reserve at G ! last evening was quickly suppress? by the Onehunga Brigade. A blaze in Elizabeth Street.
