FARMER’S WINDFALL
COSTS AGAINST CREDITOR PETITIONER FAILS TO APPEAR A farmer from Opotiki, who was summoned to the Bankruptcy Court this morning to give reasons why he should not be adjudicated, is richer by nearly £lO for his appearance. When the case was called couni‘l for the petitioning creditor did not appear, but the respondent was in court. He asked Mr. Justice Blair what he should do, and was informed that he could have tlie petitioner struck out. as the otner side had not appeared. “I will have it struck out, then," said the respondent. His Honour: I suppose you want costs. You are entitled to them. “Oh, yes, I have been put to a lot of trouble,” replied the respondent. The costs awarded amounted to £9 12s. “Where do I get the costs?” asked the respondent. His Honour smilingly remarked that he would have to wait for them.
