NEW CRICKET RULES
STATUS OF DOMINIONS SYSTEM OF SCORING By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Wednesday. The Advisory Committee for the county cricket championship has adopted an addition to Rule 11 of the rules of county cricket. The addition reads: “A British Dominion or State shall, for the purposes of this rule, be regarded as a county.” The addition was made after obtaining the consent of the overseas governing bodies. The advisory committee of the Marylebone Cricket Club has rejected the proposal of the Lancashire Club to abolish points for a first innings lead, in deciding the county championship. and has appointed a sub-commit-tee to decide the method of scoring.— A and N.Z.-Sun. No. 11 of the Rules of County Cricket states that a cricketer of one county who wishes to qualify for another county must obtain the former's written consent before going to reside in the latter. The system of scoring last year for the championship was as follows: A win counted 3 points; in drawn games the side leading on the first innings scored 3 points and the side behind on the first •tjnings 1 point. Matches in which there was no result on the first innings were ignored. The scoring was reckoned on the percentage of points obtained.
