ANNUAL CONFERENCE OPENS Press Association. WELLINGTON. To-day. The conference of the secretaries and executive officers of the Electric-Power Beards and Supply Authorities Association opened to-day. The delegates were welcomed bv the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup. Mr. J. A. Nash. M.P.. presided. He said the boards had shown wisdom in making haste slowly, embarked upon an advertising campaign, as they now had not the current with which to supply consumers. Van Rich at Last All started in the Sylvia Park Handicap, the bracket Bingen King and Direct Morning carrying £1,140, while of the others the quotations were headed by Van Rich. £571; Wrigley, £524; Mulwaree, £506; and Pitaroa, £455. Van Rich went out quickly from Bronze Patch, Wrigley, Mulwaree, Direct Morning, Bingen King, and Lord Min to, this being the order at the end of a couple of furlongs, with Ben Lomond and Pitaroa last. Entering the back stretch Wrigley took up the leading position from Van Rich, Direct Morning, Bronze Patch, and Mulwaree, with Hue Coronado and Nelson Tasker following at an interval. Direct Morning was in charge crossing the top, and showed the way into the straight from Van Rich, Mulwaree, Wrigley, and Liberate. The leader tired in the run home, Van Rich beating him by a length and ahalf, with Mulwaree a couple of lengths away. Goldman got up into fourth place, and Bingen King, Liberate, Master Councillor, and Bronze Patchc were next to cross the line.
