BANK OF AUSTRALASIA FIRM DEBENTURES IN DEMAND Although few sales have been recorded in Banks, the market still remu ins iirm. Bank of Australasia scrip has improved to buyers £l4 16s, no shares offering. English, Scottish and Australian Bank shares are also improving. Bank of New South Wales are steady with buyers £47 10s, sellers L 48. Timber stocks are attracting a little more attention, although few sales have been transacted. Hill and Plummer shares remain very firm, with buyers quoting 22s 6d, no sellers appearing. Union Oil, Soap and Candle scrip is also sought after, with buyers 40s, no shares offering Local body debentures are keenly sought after at high figures, but few sellers are quoting. Governmnt stocks are also in demand, occasional sales being reported.
