NATION’S FINAL TRIBUTE
LATE LORD OXFORD SERVICE AT WESTMINSTER By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 12.15 p.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Duke of York, representing the King, Vice-Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey, representing the Prince of Wales, Prince Arthur o:’ Connaught, and also peers, members of the Cabinet, statesmen, ambassadors, high commissioners and other Imperial representatives and officers, paid a last tribute to the late Earl of Oxford at the Westminster Abbey service. Lady Oxford, Princess Bibesco and other members of the family were in the deepest black. The altar steps were wreathed in flowers, and scarlet lupins blazed above the altar. The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Dean of Westminster officiated, and the prayers and hymns were impressively followed, the nation farewelling the dead statesman with a final "amen.”—A. and N.Z.
