FINAL INTER-CLUB MATCHES RESULT STILL IN DOUBT (From Our Own Correspondent) NGATEA, Tuesday. The final matches of the Hauraki Plains Cricket Association’s annual in-ter-club competitions were played on Saturday last. As three-point wins were secured by Turua Waitakaruru and Kopuarahi, -the championship points are now:—Turua 23, Waitakaruru 23, Kaihere 19, Kopuarahi 18, Ngatea 9, Pipiroa 5 and Orongo 4. Waitaka.ruru and Kopuarahi will accordingly play the innings which was abandoned. The best batting in the various teams on the day was as follows:—Kopuarahi team* T. Mackay 18, Russell Green 21 not out. Pipiroa team: W. Knox 14, J. Knox 14. Waitakaruru team: C. Stretton 20 and 21, F. Walsh 24. Ngatea team: F. Nicol 21, S. Phillips 11. Turua team: R. D. Macklow 31, M. Madgwick 10. Orongo team: A. McMillan 7, I. Beddie 6 not out. The several team’s best bowlers on the day were:—Turua: F. Bell 5-1, H. Owens 4-6. Orongo: A. McMillan 3-4, N. Death 4-16.
