A very pretty wedding took place last evening at Christ Church, Papakura, when Elfrieda Louisa, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Elliott, of “Red Mount,” Papakura, was married to Mr. Cyril Grey Williams Wild, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wild, re Aroha. The Rev. A. J. Beck, of St. Luke's, Mount Albert, who performed the ceremony, had also officiated at the wedding of the bride’s father and mother at Aratapu, Northern Waujoa. Miss F. Lowne, cousin of the bride, acted as organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very charming in a frock of white georgette trimmed with cream and hand-made lace with a dainty tulle veil and orange blossom Miss Kathleen Walpole, of Te Koouru was chief bridesmaid, and wore a pretty frock of lavender taffeta shot with silver and made in semi-Victorian style with panels of tiny frills. The second bridesmaid, Miss Doreen Sharp, of Gisborne, wore a dainty frock of apple green taffeta made m similar fashion. Miss Florence Buckland, of Opotiki, was another' bridesmaid and was gowned in rose pink and silver taffeta. The bridesmaids each wore a smart head-dress of tulle, trimmed with small flowers and streamers, and carried a posy bouquet of sweet peas in colours to match, their frocks. The church was decorated with white oleanders and blue hydrangea and suspended over the bridal group was a beautiful wedding bell made by the pupils and teachers of the Papakura School of white dahlias, white daisies and asparagus fern. The best man was Mr. Gordon Llliott, brother of the bride, and the groomsmen, Mr. Jack Elliott and Mr. Strange. • . A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride’s parents, “Red Mount,” Papakura, where over 100 guests were entertained to a wedding supper in a marquee erected on the lawn. The tables were adorned with a profusion of lovely sweet peas, asters and tiger lilies, and hanging over the bridal table was a pretty wedding bell of pink and white, which was presented by the bride’s relatives. The usual toasts were honoured and a very enjoyable time spent. The bride’s travelling dress was a deep rose Milanese jumper suit, and with it she wore a hat of frosted fawn felt and coat of mulberry French cloth with brown fur trimmings. Mrs. J. E.
