CANADA’S BUDGET

MEMBERS’ DISAPPROVAL HIT AT AUSTRALIAN TREATY By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. OTTAWA, Monday. Mr. C. H. Cahn, Conservative member of the House of Commons, moved a party amendment to the Budget this afternoon. This was to the effect that the House regretted the measure did not tend to provide increased employment in Canada, nor to induce the return of Canadians to their native land, nor to prevent the continued emigration to the United States. It also expressed regret that no provision was made for the preservation of the domestic markets for Canadian farm and dairy products. The latter clause was aimed at the Australian treaty.—A. and N.Z.
