“Jekyll and Hyde ” Clergyman
Gaoled For Supplying Drugs To Women By Cable. — Press* Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. A Church of England clergyman, the Rev. Francis Bacon, aged 70, was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment for supplying noxious drugs to women. He carried on a mail-order business known as “Dr. Hannah Nerown, Limited,” for which he assumed the name of Howard Barron while vicar of All Saints’ Church at Spitalfields. Th ? Recorder, in sentencing Bacon, denounced him as a •Jeky! 1 and Hyde character, concealing the pernicious secret of his drug traffic under the cloak of religious hypocrisy. A. and X.Z.
