RETURNED SOLDIERS
COMBINED REUNION The annual reunion of the Te Kuiti, Te Awamutu and Kawhia members of the Returned Soldiers’ Association took place at Kawhia on Saturday last. The visitors were warmly welcomed by their Kawhia comrades and other friends at a social gathering held in the evening, at which Mr. H. T. Morton presided. The following toast list was dealt with: Loyal toast, “The Navy, Army and Air Forces,” proposed by Mr. Martin Oldbury, and responded to by Mr. West; “Absent Comrades,” Mr. T.. Hetet, honoured in silence; “The Ladies, Mr. G. W r . D. Osborne, president of the Te Awamutu branch, and acknowledged by Sisters Reidy and Watson and Messrs. Rollings and Jonathan; “The Returned Soldiers’ Association,” Mr. T. Parker. The following contributed to the musical programme:—Messrs. H Fear, D. Stallard. Captain Bush-King, T. Pati AI Oldbury, Turner, G. Osborne, J. P Robinson.
