GOVERNMENT’S ADVICE The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram dated the 18th inst. from the High Commissioner of New Zealand;— Tallow: Market quiet at last quotation. Eggs: Large supplies of best coming forward, and business is dull at lower prices. Market is bare of cheaper descriptions. Present quotations are:— Danish, 16s to 18s a long 100; French and Dutch, 15s to 17s a long 100; English and Belgian, 14s 6d to 16s a long 100; Egyptian, 9s 6d to 10s 6d a long 100. Apples: Demand is moderate for American boxed apples except for Newtown t ippin, for which there is a good market Present quotations are: Oregon Newtown, 14s to ISs a box; Californian Newtown, 12s to 14s a box; Rome Beauty and \V inesap, 9s to 12s a box.
