JAPAN EXCITED OVER GENERAL ELECTIONS

EXTENSION OF SUFFRAGE By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright TOKIO, Monday. The first general election in Japan under the extended suffrage laws is to-day absorbing public interest. Polling commenced early in the morning and is proceeding in an orderly manner, although the excitement is increasing. It is generally expected that the Seiyukai (Government) Party will win more seats than the Minseito (Opposition), but will not be able to secure an absolute majority over all parties. —A. and N.Z.
