ALCOHOLIC POISONING Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. An inquest was held to-day concerning the deL. ii of Vernon Richard Pike in ilie Paparoa gaol. Deceased had been arrested on February 9 on a charge of helpless drunkenness. He was ourfering lrom delirium tremens and was re moved on the following day to the gaol. The coroner found that Pike died from alcoholic poisoning, and added that he could see no reason to complain of the treatment of deceased by the gaol authorities.
