“ORCHIDS AND ERMINE” Another chapter in the list of brilliant screen comedy successes from the pen of Carey Wilson was completed with the filming of “Orchids and LV mine,” the gay film play that is CoI,* 1 ,* leen Moore’s laste«t starring venture for First National at the Theatre Royal, Kingsland. “Orchids and Ermine” represents the best of this brilliant writer’s skill. It has genuine romance, and while comedy predominates, there are occasional brief touches of pathos that help to make the whole a real gem of eiitertainment.
This new Colleen Moore starring picture, a tale of a New York telephone girl’s romance, had the advantage during its filming of the constant attention of its air nor. Working hand in hand with McCormick and with the director, Alfred Santell, Wilson was able to watch closely the development of “Orchids and EJrmine” and to make helpful suggestions as the filming progressed.
Miss Moore’s supporting cast for the picture includes Jack Mulhall, Sam Hardy, Gwen Lee, Alma Bennett, Hedda Hopper, Kate Price, Jed Prouty, Emily Fitzrov, Caroline Snowden, Yols D’Avril and Brooks Benedict.
