NOTES A Devonport listener reports that the Sydney short-wave station 2ME has been coming: in with good strength lately. Yesterday morning- 3LO was heard plainly and with good volume on a special test transmission to London. Messages were broadcast by one of the artists to friends in England. Gramophone music took a prominent place on the programme. The New York station. 2XAF, has extended its hours of transmission on Wednesdays and Fridays, now closing down at about 6.30 p.m. New Zealand summer time. The strength of the transmission varies greatly, on some days being scarcely audible, while on other occasions good volume is obtained. Mr. C. E. Craig, trotting expert of The Sun. will be on the air from IYA tonight during the news session, when he will review the prospects of to-morrow's Otahuhu meeting. Mr. Craig broadcast last Saturday’s prospects on Friday evening, and was successful in picking dividend payers in all but one race. No one interested in trotting should miss his talks.. ——
