CABINET’S ADMIRATION

LETTER TO COUNTESS OF OXFORD SITE OF GRAVE CHOSEN By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Sunday. The Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Baldwin, at the request of Cabinet, has sent a letter to the Countess of Oxford, expressing its united admiration and reverence of the late Earl of Oxfcft-d and Asquith, who, the letter states, represented the best traditions of the race in Parliamentary institutions. The Countess of Oxford visited the old churchyard of Sutton Courtney and chose the spot where her late husband’s remains will lie.

It is a quiet corner a few yards from the chancel wall, under the shade of a great yew tree. There are clusters of snowdrops growing near by, while the graves of humble folk surround the last resting place of the great statesman.

The funeral on Monday will be attended only by the late Earl’s relatives and closest personal friends. Over 4,000 messages of sympathy have been received.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.
