SOUTHERN STOCK ROUTE

TRAFFIC HELD UP The necessity of a stock route, to serve the south suburban areas, was brought forcibly home to the travelling public yesterday morning, when a herd of some 200 cattle, travelling north, held up the traffic at the Wiri Bridge’ where only half the road is open at present. By the time the cattle were got over the eight chains • where the concrete work is in hand, some 20 cars were held up, only to be met a short distance further south by a flock of sheep about 100 strong, and traffic was again delayed for a considerable time at the bridge.
