KING COUNTRY BOWLING
CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES (From Our Own Coi'i'espcndcnl) TE AWAMUTU, Friday'. With the object of finding the champion singles and full-rink team in the King Country' group of the South Auckland Bowling Association, ma tches w'ere play'ed at Te Kuiti on Thursday*. Te Awamutu, • Taumarunui, Te Kuiti and Otorohanga Clubs competed. In the singles North (Te Awamutu) and Smith (Te Kuiti) met, the Te Awamutu man winning by 19 to 13. Then he met Browich (Taumaxunui), the game ending in North winning, 21—lb*. Th final was between North and Turnbu’ (Otorohanga) and again Nort:, triumphed, 20—15. The full-rink contest was R. Ross. A. C. Cruickshapk, F. Bowden and R. Metcalfe (Te Awamutu) against Andrew Henderson, C. Boles and A. Julian (skip) (Te Kuiti) in the opening game, which was won by' Te Awamutu, 26 14. The final was played between Taumarunui and Te Awamutu. and an exciting game resulted in favour of Metcalfe’s team by 23—22.
