PRISONERS SENTENCED
CRIME IN THE SOUTH SEXUAL OFFENCES PREVALENT Precis Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The following prisoners were sentenced this morning at the Supreme Court: —Edward Skipworth Dixon, indecent assault on male, admitted to probation for three years; Duncan Chasland, indecent assault on a male, 12 months each on two charges, terms to be concurrent; Herbert William Heighton, indecent assault on a female, reformative treatment not exceeding 10 years; Oliver Victor Tuckwell, common assault on a female, ordered to come up for sentence within three months; Frances Robert Nicholson. indecent assault on a female, ordered to come up for sentence within three months; Walter Fras'-r Sherris Harneiss. burglary, two years’ gaol: James O’Brien, racecourse pickpocket, six months’ gaol, and declare J an habitual criminal; Harold Hardgrave, Unit, probation for one year; Edward Frederick Wilde, making a false statement that he posted a packet containing money, fined £lO and ordered to pay costs £ll.
