CAPITOL

“THE LOVE THRILL” In “The Love Thrill,” the UniversalJewel picture, which will be shown at the Capitol Theatre to-night, Bryant Washburn nortrays the role of the

villain. He is a nice sophisticated villain. faultlessly dressed and over polite, a far call from the bearded heavy that he used to vanquish so regularly, but he is a villain just the 'same. The strange part about it is that as a villain he is even more popular with the flapper than he was as the fair-haired hero. The reason for this is something that will have to be figured out by long and careful elimination of the obvious and in the meantime, Washburn, according to his own avowals, is going to continue to be the villain. Laura La Plante plays the starring role in “The Love Thrill,” and in addition to Washburn is supported by Tom Moore, Xat Carr, Jocelyn Lee, Arthur Hoyt and other featured players. “Soft Cushions,” starring Douglas Mac Lean, will also be shown to-night. John Gilbert plays the exceedingly eventful role of Prince Danilo in “The Merry Widow,” Metro - GoldwynMayer’s reproduction of the famous musical comedy. The picture should be one of the really big screen events of the year, and preparations are being made for its early release. .
