“The Unknown,” a Metro - Goldwyn - Mayer special production, Chaney is said to give the performance of his career. The theme of the picture centres around the lives of the members of a circus troupe, of which Lon Chaney ’ as the “Armless Wonder,” is the star perfdrmer, with Norman Kerry as the “strong man,” and charming Joan Crawford as the proprietor’s daughter. These three distinguished favourites provide the tense drama, mystery, deep sacrifice and romance with which this gripping production abounds.
