GRAND

“THE GAY RETREAT” Something new in feature comedy dramas, “The Gay Retreat,” will be shown at the Grand Theatre to-day. This is a war film with a difference, because it pictures entirely the amusing angles of the late unpleasantness. And Ted McNamara and Sammy Cohen are the two mirthmakers who are responsible for most of the hilarious situations in tli© picture, though Gene Cameron, as the sleepwalking doughboy, and Charles Gorman as the hard-boiled sergeant, do their share to keep an audience happy. The story is splendidly motivated, and every mirth-provoking situation is the logical result of what preceded it. Not only humour, but thrills in plentiful measure and a double-bar-relled romance help to make "The Gay Retreat” a treat for the whole family.
