TECH. OLD BOYS’ CLUB T. E. HENRY WINS 440 YARDS Athletes at. the meeting* of the Technical College Old Boys’ Amateur Athletic Club held on the Domain last evening were sent away from their marks by the bang of a benzine tin. There was no pistol available and consequently most of the starts were uneven. In the final of the 120yds handicap, Meredith and Milliken dead-heated for first place and so made a good race of It, while T. E. Henry in the 440yds started off scratch and managed to come in and win easily in 52sec. The results were as follows: 120 Yards Handicap.—First heat: H. E. Biggs, 81yds, 1; W. N. Milliken, 9yds, 2; T. E. Henry, 51yds, 3. Six started. Won by a yard, inches between second and third. Time, 12 l-ss. Second heat: R. V. Walker, Syds, 1; L. Meredith, 3yds, 2: A. G. Bond, Byds, 3. Five started. Won by two yards, with a foot between second and third. Time, 12s. Final: L. Meredith ind W. M. Milliken, dead heat, U H. E. Biggs, 3. From a ragged start, Walker was first to show out and led at 80yds. in a good finish the judges were unable to separate Milliken and Meredith. Biggs was inches away third. Time, 12 l-ss. •80 Yards Handicap.—X. F. Cooper, 20yds, 1; L. C. Barker, Syds, 2; W. Watt, .'»oyds, 3. Seven started. Won by five yards, with a similar distance between second and third. Time, 2m 3 l-ss. ♦4O Yards Handicap.—T. E. Henry, scr., 1; A. J. Elliott, 10yds, 2; R. Kirkwood, 15yds, 3. Seven started. Henry made a fcood effort over the last 200yds, and sustained a fin* run to beat the sprint champion comfortably by three yards. Time. 52a.
