MAJESTIC

“ADAM AND EVIL” TO-MORROW Th© attractive programme headed by Ramon Novarro’s “The Road to Romance,” which has been screened i at the Majestic Theatre, will have its last presentation this evening. It will be with regret that Auckland picturegoers will learn that it will also be the last appearance of Mr. Ernest McKinlay, the popular Dunedin tenor, who has been delighting all with his remarkable voice, and his rendering of “La Donna e Mobile,” and the old favourite, “Waiata Poi.” To-morrow at the Majestic another big laughter programme will be screened, with a “paradise of laughter,” “Adam and Evil,” as the' chief pictorial attraction. For the first time in his career upon the screen Lew Cody is going to be seen in a dual-role. Cody has played everything from tragedy to comedy, appeared in almost every conceivable sort of a film role, played opposite most of the featured feminine players of the screen, but never before has he played more than one role in the same production. In “Adam and Evil,” Metro-Gold wynMayer’s feature comedy, Lew plays the dual role of twin brothers. Costarred with him is Aileen Pringle, who for the first time appears upon the screen as a comedienne. The picture is based on an original story by F. Hugh Herbert and Florence Kyerson, autnors of “The DemiBride,” “On Ze Boulevard,” “Smarty,” and other screen stories. The cast includes Roy D’Arcy, Gwen Lee, Hedda Hopper, Gertrude Short, and others. A. special attraction on the musical programme will be a delightful interlude, “Piccolo Pic” (Walter Slater), which will be rendered by the talented soloist, Mr. Frank Poore, accompanied by the Majestic Orchestra, under Mr. Whiteford -Waugh.

A film of special interest to Aucklanders will be “Round the Greens,” showing some of Auckland’s leading bowlers, and leading business men, who have been photographed while engaged in their engrossing sport. A beautiful scenic of Marlborough Sounds, a Majestic Magazine, and a delightful Our Gang comedy, "The Old Wallop,” will also be included in the programme.
