DEPLETED STREETS LOAN
£568,266 EXPENDED A report submitted to the Works Committee of the City Council this afternoon showed that up to December 31 the £ 710,000 loan for street works has been depleted by £568,266 11s 6d. The expenditure detailed shows secondary streets £381,411 2s 2d, paved streets £143,011 ISs lOd, purchase of property, widening: and miscellaneous, £43,843 10s 6d. In addition £21,017 17s 4d discounts and charges has to be met on the raising: of the first portion of £400,000. Further works have been authorised, but are being: delayed pending: railway plans being definitely announced, and the works uomraittec is considering future activities a view to completing the works.
