SHORTAGE IN CASH Press Association. WAIPUKURAU, To-day. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning Horace Radvers Maddaford, formerly assistant-clerk in the office of the Patangata County Council, was charged with fraudulently omitting to account for sums totalling £722 15s 7d, thereby committing theft. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, Napier, bail being granted on the basis of his own recognisance for £ 500 and two sureties of £250 each.
