RIFLE SHOOTING
THE AKARANA CLUB The members of the Akarana Defence Rifle Club competed for trophies presented by Mr. F. H. Brewer, Mr. D. Calder and Mr. A. G. Devore over the ranges of 800 and 900 yards at Penrose rifle range on Monday. There was a good attendance of members, who took the opportunity of getting a shoot over the long ranges before their departure to the national meeting to be held at Trentham. The first three men in each section take, 3, 3 and 1 points respectively. Silver spoons were won by A. C. Crossan. T. Elliott senr., and R. Fye.
