CAR LEAPS OVER BANK

DRIVER’S LUCKY ESCAPE (Special to THE SUN.) MAUNGATUROTO, Monday. On Saturday last, while driving a five-seater motor-car in the vicinity of Maungaturoto railway station, Mr. Murdoch Finlayson had the misfortune to go over a deep declivity off the main road. He was passing a vehicle going in the opposite direction, and pulled off to allow it to pass, but he possibly got too far over, and the car got momentarily out of control. The vehicle ran over to the other side of the road and down a steep bank, turning completely over and landing all wheels uppermost. The hood afforded the driver sufficient protection, and he emerged unhurt. The car, however, suffered some damage. Mr. Finlayson was the only occupant of the motor.
