A TRIP NEARER HOME FOR A CHANGE.—Most motorists just whizz over the Whau Bridge in search of fields afar, but a trip could well be made up the peninsula. An additional attraction this Saturday is an opportunity to watch speedboat and outboard motor-boat racing up the Whau River, all the races being visible from a natural grandstand on the bank. Turn off the Great North Road at Rosebank Road (just before reaching the Avondale Racecourse) and follow this road to the end of the bitumen at Mr. Robertson’s gate. Good parking will be available in Robertson’s Paddock.
