WONDERS OF N.Z.

GOVERNMENT PUBLICITY FILM ADVERTISING THE DOMINION So that overseas visitors and New Zealanders themselves may get some idea of the fascinations of the Dominion the Publicity Department has inaugurated an excellent scheme in Auckland. Moving pictures of New Zealand’s wonders will be shown at the Strand Theatre on Mondays and Tuesdays from 11 a.m. until noon. The first session held yesterday attracted a fair attendance and the programme was a comprehensive one and calculated to entice tourists much further afield. Even New Zealanders present were smitten with a horror of their ignorance and a desire to get a fuller knowledge of their country. After a tabloid tour of New Zealand, beginning with Auckland and including the thermal belt, the four centres, the Wanganui River, the mountains of South and North, the Franz Josef Glacier and the Cold Lakes, several specialist films were screened. Among these was a most interesting study of the gannets at Cape Kidnappers and a film of the thrilling winter sports at Mount Cook. The sessions are free.
