TO JOIN AORANGI

MR. AND MRS. WILFORD TRIP TO ENGLAND (From Our Resident Correspondent .) WELLINGTON, To-day. Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P. for Lower Hutt, and Mrs. Wilford leave Wellington to-day to join the Aorangi at Auckland to-morrow, en route for Canada and England. They had intended to sail for Sydney last Friday and proceed to Hong-Kong to join their son there, but earlier in the week they received a cable saying that Mr. Wilford, junior, had decided to return to England on account of his health and they had to change their plans hurriedly. In passing through Canada, Mr. Wilford will spend a short time at Ottawa, the seat of Government, and gain further insight into the politics of the sister Dominion. He has been to Canada before but never to Ottawa. During other tours he has visited no fewer than 28 countries and has sat with the Parliaments of Britain, Australia, Japan, and Italy. “I am really going to London just to give my little girl a hug,” said Mr. Wilford before leaving. “I have not seen her for some time.” He will be back in time for the opening of the New Zealand Parliament in June.
