LITTLE, ESQ., one of the most outstanding figures in China, who has owned Citrus Plantations in California and South Africa and knows all Australia, has purchased several Sections of the ALDERTOX GROUP SETTLEMENT, with a view to making his home here. After spending a week carefully inspecting the property, its possibilities, its unique climate, its environment of lovely blue Mediterranean waters, its cruising and fishing grounds, he writes from Rotorua as follows: Dear Mr. Alderton, February 2, 1928. After more than 40 years’ residence in China I have come to New Zealand to select a site to which I can retire with my family. It is necessary for my purposes to find a climate that is fairly equable all the year round. I have searched fairly thoroughly the country in and around and north of the city of Auckland, but without finding just what I wanted. I was exceedingly fortunate in paving a visit to Kerikeri and the Aiderton Group Settlement Estate. I found there just what suits me and have pleasure in confirming that I have acquired a fairly large block of your land. The climate is superb, and even in the midst of summer I found it invigorating and most refreshing. I was able to walk about all day without fatigue while at night I required all the bedding I could get to keep warm. I am delighted at the evidences I saw of the ability of the soil and climate to grow to perfection all kinds of trees, flowers and vegetables. The excellent fishing and boating and opportunities for all kinds of out-door sports and exercise make the position most attractive. I intend to advise any persons retiring from the Far East or India to have a look at this wonderful district before making their final selection for a home. In a word, -1 am more than satisfied and look forward to added years of healthful life for my wife and myself by residing in this beautiful and most attractive district. Yours sincerely, EDWARD S.
