WATER RESTRICTIONS

COMMERCIAL AND DOMESTIC USE ONLY WATER CANS PROHIBITED The City Council has now deemed it advisable to absolutely restrict the use of water to domestic and commercial purposes. No watering of private lawns and gardens will be allowed by any means whatever, the water can being classed with the prohibited hose. This step has been taken as the result of the constantly-falling dams, and the expert prediction that no heavy rains will fall until the end of next month. It has been brought to the notice of the council that some people are still watering lawns and gardens, an attitude that is strongly condemned in view of th© great majority of residents having met the c-ouncil fairly in the water crisis, and having the bitter' experience of seeing their gardens gradually ruined.
