ARMITAGE—RYDER

A pretty wedding took place recently at St. Paul’s Church, Symonds Street, when Kathleen Mary, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Armitage, of Jellicoe Avenue, Tuakau, was married to John Henry, third son of the late Captain and Mrs. J. S. Ryder, of “Ravenstone,” Tuakau. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Watson. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory georgette and lace, with a dainty tulle veil, falling from a circlet of orange blossoms to form a train. Her bouquet was composed of cream roses and asparagus fern. Miss Eva Balme attended as bridesmaid, and wore a ftock of guipure lace over rose pink satin, with a black hat relieved with pink roses. Her bouquet was of pink dahlias and maidenhair fern. Mr. H. Armitage, brother of the bride, acted as best man. Hr. Thomas presided at the organ, and Miss Horrocks sang “The Voice That Breathed O’er Eden.” After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was held at the “Oorothy,” Anzac Avenue, where the usual toasts were honoured. Mrs. Armitage, mother of the bride, received the guests wearing a floral mauve frock with black brocaded coat and hat to tone, and a Victorian posy of dahlias and maidenhair fern. When the young couple left later for a short wedding tour by the express the bride’s travelling costume was of peach charmelaine with hat to match.
