PROBATION IN SEXUAL CASES JUDGE GIVES WARNING Press Association. TIMARU, To day. At the Supreme Court, Kenneth Gordon Vitch, who pleaded guilty to a charge of carnal knowledge, was admitted to probation for two years. In doing so, Mr. Justice Adams said that the sentence must not be taken to mean that a similar course would be adopted in future cases. Cecil Butler, on a charge of stealing £76 10s, to which he pleaded guilty, was sentenced to reformative treatment for a period not exceeding two years.
